INJECTIONS

Botox/Dysport

Botox and Dysport are one of the best ways to treat and prevent wrinkles on the face. They are great for treating crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines between the eyebrows. Botox and Dysport can also be used to treat thick neck bands, making the neck look slimmer and jaw appear more defined. In addition, they can be used to treat chin dimples, TMJ, migraines, excessive armpit sweating, and for facial slimming.

Botox and Dysport are injected into muscles to temporarily reduce wrinkles caused by muscle contractions. The dosage is based on your muscle mass and muscle strength in the area of concern.More clinical trials have been conducted on Botox and Dysport than Ibuprofen and all the studies have they are safe and effective.

Botox and Dysport generally last between 3-4 months, although results vary. It takes 2 weeks to see the final results of Botox and Dysport. Bruising is a possible side effect of the procedure. Therefore, please schedule Botox or Dysport injections at least 2 weeks before an important event. If you are pregnant or breast feeding, you are not a candidate of Botox and Dysport.

Filler

Fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm, are made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in our skin. Fillers are injected with the goal of restoring volume, smoothing fine lines, and improving the appearance of scarring. Fillers can also be used to sculpt the face and create facial balance, such as augmenting the chin or lips as well as defining the jawline.

Fillers last anywhere from 6-18 months depending on the filler used. Results are immediate. Bruising and swelling are common side effects from the procedure. Therefore, please schedule filler injections at least 2 weeks before an important event. If you are pregnant or breast feeding, you are not a candidate for filler. Do not schedule dental cleanings, dental work, or vaccines 2 weeks before or after your filler injections due to risk of nodule formation.

Kybella

Kybella is FDA-approved to permanently dissolve areas of unwanted fat. Clinical trials show that even if patients gain weight after completion of a Kybella treatment series, they did not see a recurrence of fat in the treatment area. Kybella can be injected anywhere you have unwanted pockets of fat. The most common treatment areas are the double chin, jowls, bra bulge, banana rolls, and inner and outer thighs being the most common treatment areas. Depending on the amount of fat in the treatment area, multiple Kybella injection 2-4 sessions are required (scheduled 4-6 weeks apart). The size of the treatment area and the amount of fat in the area will dictate how many vials of Kybella will be used (generally 1-3 vials per treatment). You will see final results 3 months after your last injection.

Bruising and swelling are extremely common with Kybella. Therefore, please schedule your Kybella treatment at least 2 weeks before an important event. If you are pregnant or breast feeding you are not a candidate for Kybella.
